Meet Our Staff

glennaHello!  My name is Glenna.  I am the Preschool Coordinator and Lead Teacher for Children’s Creative Learning Center.  I am very proud to be a member of our exceptional staff.  It is an honor to be working with such wonderful adults and astonishing children.  Every child and adult that I work with has a special gift that inspires me to continue teaching.

I have a teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University and two certifications from the State of Michigan, one for Elementary Education and the other for Early Childhood.  I am also a tutor at Great Lakes Educational Group located in Saline.  I will begin pursuing a Master’s degree in reading in the near future.

I was born and raised in Saline, but currently reside in Clinton, Michigan with my husband and three children.  Allison is currently attending Eastern Michigan University majoring in Business Management.  Christian plays football, basketball, and baseball.  Our youngest Faith, enjoys soccer, softball, and drama.  These activities keep my husband, Bob and I very involved in the community and in our children’s lives.

I enjoy teaching, gardening, swimming and reading to and with children.  I take great pleasure vacationing with my family at my parent’s cottage in Dublin, Michigan on Sand Lake.  We also enjoy taking trips to Englewood, Florida.

It is a great honor to support children as they become life long learners.

jessicaHi, my name is Jessica.  I have been with Children’s Creative Learning Center since August of 2006.  I am the Infant/Toddler Coordinator and a Lead Teacher in the Infant/Toddler House.  I enjoy the dual role of having one foot in the hands on end of childcare, being a Lead Teacher and the other in the administrative side as the Infant/Toddler Coordinator.

I have a total of almost seven years experience, working here at CCLC and Air Force Child Development Centers in Okinawa, Japan and South Dakota where my husband Tyler and I have lived.  I obtained my Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) from Washtenaw Community College in June 2007.  I plan on pursuing my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education in the future.

Besides working with children and their families I enjoy volunteering my time at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center.  My dog Aurora and I are a certified Pet Therapy Team and visit patients at the VA.   I also enjoy expressing my creativity through crafting, especially scrapbooking.  I love having a job where I can be creative and watch children as they discover and explore their creativity.

The families and children that I have met since starting here have been a blessing and they each teach me something new daily.  I am looking forward to this year and all the new experiences and precious memories that are sure to come with it.

PujaHello!  My name is Puja: I’m married to my high school sweetheart and have an 8 month old little girl.

I’ve lived all over the world-the most recent stay being in Canada.  I would love to someday visit Ireland.  I think I have an Irish soul.

I’m a graduate of the University of Toronto and am currently (slowly) working towards my Master’s in Science Education.  I’ve been teaching for almost 9 years having been a counselor, school teacher, daycare teacher and tutor.  I believe children are the leaders of tomorrow and it is our job to nourish them into healthy, compassionate and well informed able adults.

jeannineHi my name is Jeannine. I have been a resident of Saline for the past 8 years but I am originally from western Massachusetts. I am married and have an 8 year old daughter named Caelin. I have been working with children off and on over the past 6 years and have most recently been employed as a Nanny. I was also employed by Saline Early Childhood Center for 3 years working mostly with the infants and toddlers. I have attended several conferences and training sessions relating to the development of young children.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, and reading. I also have a love for music and have been a violinist since the age of 5. I have had the honor of performing with the New York School for Strings at Carnegie Hall in 1991 and 1996. Other hobbies include camping, canoeing, and enjoying the outdoors with my family.

I am very excited to re-join the CCLC team and look forward to connecting with each child and their family.

Smile  My name is Shuping. I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a university in China and worked there for a paper mill for 4 years as a chemical engineer. About 12 years ago I came to America to join my husband Jingyu. We currently live in Saline with our two daughters Ailen and Yoyo. They are second and third graders at Woodland Meadows.  I volunteer at their school very often. I like children very much.  I feel so happy to have the opportunity to work at CCLC and actively participate in the training programs provided.  In the past 2 years I worked here, I learned a lot from my co-workers and have gained experience to take good care of these lovely little kids.  I am very pleased with the great progress they have achieved. They give me so much fun, too.  BIG thanks to them!

huiminMy name is Hui-Min. I was born in Taiwan. My parents are from China. I am the oldest of three and I have one sister and one brother. My family moved to the U. S. in 1979 when I was 12 years old. I lived in Colorado and other places out west before settling in Michigan. My husband and I have been married since 1994. We have an 8 year old son named Zeke and most recently we added two new members to the family, Autumn, 8 and Alena, 6.  My husband and I adopted them this summer.   I like to watch comedy and action movies. I also enjoy cooking, playing golf, and reading Chinese fictional stories set in historical periods.

I started working in the child care profession several years ago and have found it very rewarding. I’ve been able to apply the knowledge I acquired from raising my son, and from reading books. I’ve also taken credits in Early Childhood Development classes and received my CDA Certificate. I am still taking credits and working towards my Associate Degree at WCC. It is a great joy to watch children reaching each milestone and seeing the confidence in their faces when they succeed.  I also like to apply new things that I have learned from training. I started out working with infants, then young toddlers and now young preschoolers. I have been working at this center since 2004.

leslieMy name is Leslie, and I have been working as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Frog Room since March. I am originally from Defiance, Ohio. I moved to Michigan last year to attend graduate school at Eastern Michigan University and am currently working towards my Master’s degree in Community Counseling. I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, which included courses in child development and child psychology. I received most of my experience in working with children from having a big family. I am the middle of seven children and am the aunt of 4 nieces and 3 nephews. When I get a free weekend from school and work, I love heading back to Ohio to see my family and watch my nieces and nephews grow.

alissa

My name is Alissa.  I am 21 years old.  I have a son who is 6 months old and his name is Joshua.  I’m currently going to school to finish my CDA and to get an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I spend most of my free time with my son and family.  I love to be outside, so I try to plan most of my activities outdoors.  As a child I traveled a lot with my parents.  I have been to Jamaica and Panama.  Most recently we went to Puerto Rico.  As my son gets older I hope to be able to take him different places.

I am always very eager to learn new things and have new experiences.  As a new first time mom I have learned many new things.  I love to be around children; because I know that every day is going to be different, you are always going to learn something new.  One of the best parts is that you get to teach something new.  To see the look on a child’s face the first time they experience or achieve something is priceless.  I hope this school will be fun and exciting and there will be many priceless faces to share.
