CHILDREN’S NEWSLETTER – March 1, 2010
BOOK FAIR SUCCESS A “Big Thank You” to all our families. Our book fair was a huge success. Each classroom received new books because of your participation and donation. We are truly grateful. We also want to thank those families who came in for the special “Guest Luncheon.” A fun time was had by all!
PRESCHOOL CONFERENCES Preschool parent/teacher conferences will be held March 15th – March 19th. Sign- up sheets have been posted on the classroom doors. Please sign up at a time that is convenient for you, as soon as possible.
MATERNITY LEAVE Lizard room lead teacher, Puja Mullins, will be taking a maternity leave between March 8th and June 18, 2010. Hui-Min will take over the lead teacher role during Puja’s leave, as she once was before. Our goal is to keep the consistency and make this transition as smooth as possible with teachers the children already have a relationship and trust. If Lizard room parents would like to schedule an earlier conference with Puja, please speak to Glenna or Jiemin. Otherwise, you will meet with Ms. Huimin during conference week.
SUMMER ENROLLMENT It is time again for us to start our summer enrollment. Attached is the summer enrollment form. Please fill it out at your earliest convenient and return it by March 31, 2010 so that we can make staff plan in advance.
SUMMER CAMP FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN As we continue to offer exciting, fun summer program, we will provide a school age program that is exclusively designed for school age children. They will have their own classroom, separate field trips, activities and second language twice a week. We have been busy working out the details for the program. Please watch for further details.
SECOND LANGUAGE ARTICLE IN PAPER The Saline Reporter has printed an article referring to our center and our second language program. It is located in the February 18, 2010 paper and is also posted on our website. Check it out!!!
PARENTS NIGHT OUT Our March Parent Night Out will be held on the 13th. Our activities will be centered around St. Patrick’s Day. The movie this month will be “Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs.”
GIFTED AND TALENTED SEMINAR The “Big Words, Big Thoughts, Little Body” presentation will be held by Marie A. Brucher. She is an expert in MI Alliance for the Gifted and Talented. She has been a very supportive resource for Children’s
