Children’s Creative Learning Center
Newsletter--October 2011
Acknowledgement
Our long anticipated three playgrounds innovation has been beautifully completed. We are overjoyed to see all our children enjoy them everyday. Words are not enough to express our gratefulness to all our families and staff. We cannot imagine these could be accomplished without the generous donation of your money, labor, time and expertise. Your action of support not only helped financially, but meant even more to us mentally. Once again, we are assured that together we can provide the best care to our children.
Welcome
We have four children and families that newly started at CCLC. They are Caiden Osborne, Dahlia Dell’Orco and Gabriel Dyer and Xavier Cruz. Jack Nichols and Jillian Bird will join us soon in October. We welcome these children and families into the CCLC community.
Policies in Review
Nuts Free: Children's Creative Learning Center is a nuts free environment. This means no peanuts or tree nuts in CCLC Facilities. Please partner with us and not send in foods containing nuts so we can maintain a safe environment for all of our children. In the event that a child brings an item for lunch that contains nuts, we will notify you and provide a substitute for that meal at your cost.
Late Pick Up: CCLC opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. Our closing staff has responsibilities at the end of the day that must be completed before they can go home. Please respect the fact that our teachers have families and duties outside the center, and pick up your child/ren and leave the building by 6pm. If you need to communicate with the teachers about your child's day, please plan on coming a few minutes earlier than your scheduled pickup time. If you have any major concerns or issues, you can always schedule a conference with us. Parents will be charged a late fee of $5 for the first 10 minutes that is past the pickup time or center closing time. After 10 minutes parents will be charged $1 per minute for each additional minute. Please see the parent handbook, page 4.
Trick or Treat
We will host a fun event on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 10am -11:30am. Children are encouraged to come to school in costume. We invite parents, families, and friends to come and join us in this event. Starting at 11:00 am children will trick or treat around CCLC’s main building. There are 76 children total. If your child does not usually attend on Thursdays, please feel free to come along with them. In addition, CCLC will participate in the Trick or Treat Trail hosted by Saline Recreation Center from 6:30-7:45pm on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
The parent/ teacher conferences will be held November 7-11 for the Preschoolers and November 14-18 for the Infants/Toddlers. During the conference we will be discussing observations and assessments done by your child’s teacher or primary care giver. Each conference will last twenty minutes. A sign-up sheet will be posted in each classroom. Please pick the time that best fits your family’s schedule. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your child’s classroom teachers.
