April 2011 News Letter

Each April, Michigan communities celebrate the Month of the Young Child. This year we would like to celebrate by running a Purple Ribbon Campaign. A Purple ribbon is attached to this newsletter. Some people display the purple ribbon on cars, briefcases, handbags and doors. We also will celebrate by wearing purple each Friday of the month. Please join us by dressing your child in purple each Friday. Let’s celebrate together!!
HEALTH INSPECTION
On Thursday, March 17, 2011 we were visited by the health inspector. We are proud to report that we passed with an “A” grade. Thanks to our families and our hard working staff for all you do to keep the center healthy and safe for our children.
LATE PICK UP POLICY
We are open from 7am-6pm. Your child should be picked up no later than 6:00pm. Parents will be charged a late fee of $5 for the first 10 minutes that a parent is past pick up time or center closing time. After 10 minutes parents will be charged $1 per minute for each additional minute that they are late picking up their child. Please refer to the Parent Handbook Page 4.
HOT LUNCH
We are pleased to inform you that we will be offering another great option for your child, hot lunch. If you would like to purchase a hot lunch one day of the month or every day (except Wednesday because it is our pizza day) please fill out the April menu and put it in “drop” box along with a check made out to Children’s Creative Learning Center.
SOCCER SHOTS
Soccer Shots is a preschool (3-5 year old) soccer program that will be held right here at our center. Soccer Shots will begin on April 13th at 11:00am. If you and your child would like to participate please sign-up on www.soccershots.org. Public is welcome so if you know of any other children in the community that would like to participate please let the staff know and we can get him/her signed up to join our CCLC children.
PARKING LOT
Please remember to slow down while in our parking lot. Children have been known to dart away from their caregivers, creating a potential danger. Along those lines, please turn off your engine when exiting your vehicle. Prevention is the best way to keep everyone out of harm’s way. The speed limit is 10 miles per hour.
SUMMER/FALL ENROLLMENT FORMS
You should have already received a summer and fall enrollment form in your child’s mailbox. If you have not already done so, please complete these forms and return them as soon as possible so we can begin planning our schedules. The summer forms are now overdue and the fall forms are due by April 15, 2011.
